AMWA is a design and manufacturing workshop based in Knysna, South Africa. The AMWA design team collaborate with other African artists and designers to make original products and ranges including scatter cushions, throws and ottomans for both the local and export markets.

Looking at all aspects, from website to brochures,
CREATE DESIGN ™ has worked with Amwa since 2005 to
re-conceptualise the AMWA marketing materials.

The main focus was to target wholesale clients with an integrated suite of marketing material. The website was the first component addressed. A CMS-driven (Content Management System) product catalogue allows the AMWA team to add new products and maintain the entire website themselves. The site has two sections – one for the general public, and the other a secure section accessed via user name and password that allows wholesalers to see the latest ranges and offerings before they hit the shelves. To market the site, CREATE DESIGN ™ implemented an HTML newsletter facility into the CMS. This allows AMWA to send its self-designed newsletter out to its entire database.

CREATE DESIGN ™ also designed a compact marketing brochure that coveys a concise impression of the overall product offer and invites the reader to visit the AWMA shop or website to see the full range.

AMWA offers not only their range of handmade products but also a full interior design service. They start by liaising with the architect, and follow the interior design plan all the way through to final styling and accessorising. To highlight these services CREATE DESIGN ™ went on location to photograph AMWA's designed interiors in homes on Thesen Islands. These images then became the inspiration for a high-quality, landscape-format brochure, which displays sweeping interiors and wonderful textural details.
