CMAI is one of the most prominent architectural firms in the Garden Route. Their projects include award-winning developments and private homes for discerning clients such as Thesen Islands and the Pezula Estate.

CREATE DESIGN ™ was approached by CMAI to design and develop a sleek yet functional flash-based website. The site is an animated portfolio that showcases the various sectors of architecture and property that CMAI specialises in.

CREATE DESIGN ™ came up with a full solution that involved conceptualising and shooting the photography that was to populate each page of the site.

Part of the complex brief was to develop a website to target a wide audience - from private clients to high profile developers and corporate institutes. The site had to work quickly and navigate easily but still represent the cutting edge architectural design that the CMAI architects are famous for.

The site acts as a portal into three distinct areas:

• An architectural portfolio showcases developments and individual homes designed by CMAI.

• The property development section incorporates the unpinning theories that drive the CMAI design ethos.

• A secure document management system allows consultants and architects to log in to a particular project area and share project information, images and documents from anywhere in the world.

The CMAI site design is streamlined for ease of navigation with optimal download speeds to enable high-profile client base to access data instantly. This structure includes interactive flash design components and photography that represents the architectural design executed by the CMAI team. The project portfolio sections are all image based.

CREATE DESIGN ™ has photographed the CMAI architecture and interiors on an ongoing basis since 2005, working with the architects to build up an understanding of the elements and details that need to be captured in the architectural and interior photography to distil the essence of each project.
