RoadCrew is a documentary media company specializing in adventure films and the stories and people involved in adventure sports (climbing, base jumping, mountain biking, kayaking, etc). They are continuously searching for new ways to capture the spirit and intensity of the people, locations and disciplines involved in the various activities.
The RoadCrew brand needed to be simple, strong and easily recognisable, the aesthetic clean and fresh and not too young and funky. The main aim of the brand was to encompass the essence of Spirit, Adventure & Freedom, Earth, Wind, Fire & Water, People, Places, Life & Nature. The name RoadCrew alludes to a crew of people travelling in search of, and capturing the spirit of, adventure.
CREATE DESIGN ™ focused on achieving a sense of space and balance within the brand by using a flat shape to represent a spirit of freedom and exploration – feelings that would be communicated to the viewer though bold, clear and clean-cut illustration and images. Thus a brand with three different facets was born - freedom, balance and adrenalin. Freedom captured in the wings of a soaring bird, balance and adrenalin captured on the edge of a teetering cliff or boulder. Combined they represent space and experience, exhilaration and personal achievement.
