South African Marine Predator Lab focuses on producing world class scientific research on marine predators in Southern Africa. SAMPLA provides field training, eco-tourism and exploration services to students and adventure/conservation orientated clients. They also provide scientific expertise and consultancy to all manner of media, NGOs, conservationists.

CREATE DESIGN ™ became aware of the important role that SAMPLA plays in educating people and in protecting our coastline through research and awareness. For this reason we have offered our services to SAMPLA to help boost their presence and to help give them a bold professional voice.

The objective of the SAMPLA brand is to communicate the importance of the marine research being done in this field to scientists, students, tourists and the media. The brand must communicate values of strength, longevity, and trust to a vast audience of people who, whether they are aware of it or not, benefit from, or partake in the various services offered by SAMPLA. The main areas of focus identified by our client were research, adventure, exploration, credibility, conservation and marine predators.

With these ideas in mind, CREATE DESIGN ™ set to work on the creation of the SAMPLA brand and corporate image - a brand that expresses empathy for the marine subjects it symbolises. Moreover, the brand has a multifaceted appeal, communicating the values of academic excellence and longevity to a scientific audience, empathy and trust to tourists, and aspiration to students.
